Before First Use
Instructions are provided for seasoning your tagine before initial use. Follow these steps to prepare your new cookware:
- Soak both the base and lid in cool water for at least 2 hours to fully hydrate the natural clay
- Remove from water and let air dry completely
- Rub the interior of the base and inside of the lid with olive oil
- Place the tagine in a cold oven, then heat to 150°C (300°F) for 2 hours
- Turn off the oven and allow the tagine to cool completely inside before removing
